Day Dreamin' about Houses in the Middle of the Afternoon...

I need a life.  HA!  I've been thinking about my 'next' house all day.  I want a 'new' house.  It doesn't have to be brand new, just new to me.  (and bigger)  One thing I need to clarify, I want a 'new' house, but I don't want to MOVE!  LOL  I know it doesn't work that way, but the idea of packing, unpacking, painting and 'fixing' up the next house....tires me out.

I mean what are the odds that the next house, even if it's brand new, isn't going to need paint on every wall. I can not live in builder white, it's not possible.  Just thinking about builder white, makes my skin crawl...and with two small kids I can't have flat paint, satin is a must.

Do you want to know my dream items?  They are dream items for sure, but not deal breakers.  Really, anything can be added after market for the most part.  Not by me of course, but the hubby, I volunteer him.

1.  Flat walls, no TEXTURE!  I'm over orange peel.  Plus I dream of board and batten and it looks so good with flat walls, wouldn't you agree.  (agree, validate me!)

2.  Crown molding, and taller base boards

3.  Farm sink

4.  Butcher block kitchen counters

5.  Hardwood floors (not in wet areas, freaks me out!  lol)

6.  Laundry room, with cabinets and a sink.

7.  Walk in closet, in the master.

I could make this kitchen work, but the cabinets need to be painted gray and the I don't want or need big professional appliances, black will be fine.  I can't see the entire kitchen, but I like the open shelves, provided they are the only set that is open.  I know a lot of folks like the open cabinets, but I can do with out.  I would love the butcher block to be on the counters, and I would prefer an island that is a repurposed table.  This is to matchy matchy for me, and I want the island to be green.  I like a pop of color.
This laundry room, would make me very happy.  I would take out the frosted cabinet doors, and just leave open shelves, I think I would paint the cabinets a fun color, maybe aqua or green.  The only thing I'm not a fan of is the counter tops, too silver and modern for me.  Maybe just some pretty Formica?  It's only the laundry room, I don't need to break the bank on the counter tops.  I wouldn't have hardwood floors here either, hardwood and water just don't mix.
Laundry Room Cabinetry

This closet is a good start, I like the hardwood floors, but I'm not fond of the actual closet hardware.  I want to have more rustic shelving and french style furniture, and a vanity.  Maybe a floor to ceiling mirror, and definitely no drawers jutting out.  I would love seating, and a big area rug with a chandelier.
Okay, so those are my dreams today.  I have a ton more for the next house, but I don't want to overwhelm anybody.  (especially the hubby, he stalks my page, don't want to scare him!)

What are you dreaming about?  Thanks for stopping by! =)

I'm such a dreamer. My whole blog is mostly made up of my dreams. It's a great outlet! I love all your dreams. I have a folder labeled house ideas with saved photos of exactly some of the things you mentioned and more.
Happy dreaming!
