Meet Saved by Suzy, Week 26

Hello friends!  I am so pleased to be here.  I'm Suzy and my blog is called Saved by Suzy.  I like to find yard sale and thrift store junk and "save" it by giving it a little makeover.  My blog also chronicles my never ending quest to change things around and beautify my home.

I have never been very crafty or good at doing projects around my house, mainly because I didn't have the confidence to try something new.  All of the things I show on my blog are easy.  If I can do it, I know you can too!  It makes me sooo happy when people tell me they never thought they could paint/refinish furniture/stain/whatever, but they tried it after seeing it on my blog.

Today, I thought I would share some of my favorite things around my home.  I recently got up the courage to paint my piano.  I had been considering it for a while, but the thought of actually doing it was scary.  I don't know what I was scared of...the whole process only took a few hours and the the piano looks sooo much better.

Here's the before - a hulking, dark beast:

And the after, so much lighter and modern:

Next up is my coffee table.  This was the first time I had ever attempted stripping wood.  Once again, not nearly as scary or difficult as I thought it would be:

Chairs are always fun to makeover.  I LOVE fabric and could spend hours browsing all of the pretty fabric online.  Here are a couple of chairs (and desks) I did for my daughters' rooms:

My latest project was taking a plain old mirror and giving it a little pizazz with the easy addition of glass tiles.

Now, I'm in the process of repainting and adding beadboard wallpaper to the bathroom so the tile actually matches the rest of the room.

Stop by my blog to find tutorials on these projects and more.  I also host a weekly link party, Suzy's House Party, on Thursdays and would love to have you join the party.

Tammy, thank you so much for having me at Type A today.  It was fun sharing a few of my favorite things with you and your readers.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Wow, you aren't very crafty at all!  lol  Girl you've got skills!  Love all the projects, but the piano is my favorite.  Thanks for being a guest.

Woo hoo - go Suzy! I'm thinking that little collage of framed artwork is my favorite over top of the piano.

I've just downloaded iStripper, so I can have the best virtual strippers dancing on my desktop.
