Splash Your Walls With Color

Splash Your Walls With Color

Curious to know what the new color trends are for the spring season? If you’re looking to put a new coat of paint on the wall, there are exciting new color trends to use for guidance. The good news: color is in this season. Instead of relying on the safe, neutral palette that many people have followed in previous years, homeowners are not shying away from color.

One of the most popular colors for the spring season is yellow. Yellow has always been a popular choice for bathrooms and kids bedrooms, but this hue is making its way into living spaces and kitchens. Instead of going for a dull yellow color, opt for a brighter palette that will make the walls pop and the room feel lively. Too pale of a yellow shade can make the room feel dry, so be sure to balance the purpose of the room with a suitable match.

Other popular color trends include pastel greens and blues. With the lighter shades of these colors, they won’t make the room feel small or cramped. Both colors are also associated with nature, so they are the perfect way to bring in inspiration from the outdoors. Blue is especially easy to work with, as it’s cool, casual and trendy. Green has reached new heights, as decorators are valuing what this light and crisp color can do for a room. And if you can’t decide, both colors match well together, so feel free to balance out the tones by painting your walls green and working in blue décor.

As refreshing as pastel yellows, blues and greens are, some people feel that these colors are still too bland. If your taste is more eclectic than that, you’re in luck this spring season. Along with a punch of color is a slice of energetic tones such as tangerine and bright pink. These colors are full of character, so you’ll want to use them with caution. In fact, tones that are this lively are referred to as ‘high impact’ colors.
The advantage to using high impact tones is that you won’t have to do much decorating. These bright and vibrant colors will give the space all the personality it needs, so all you have to do is add in a few matching pillows, a simple throw and artwork, while keeping everything else neutral. You can also choose to use tangerine or bright pink for an accent wall, while painting the other three walls a gray or cream color.

Another trend to keep an eye out for is scented paints. You can enjoy the smell of spring year-round with fresh laundry, wildflower and citrus scented paints.
