May the Force be with You

GIVE AWAY!!!

I can't be for sure, because I don't know every six year old boy on the planet, but my Connor has to be the biggest Star Wars fan on the planet.  He lives Star Wars.  He asked me once why I hadn't named him Luke.  If I had only known, I might have.

Recently I bought him some very cool vintage prints for his room, but after they were hung, I took them down and returned them.  Just because I love vintage, doesn't mean my boy does.  I thought about it, and I kinda felt pretty stupid, Star Wars.  What was wrong with me?  I should have known better.

So I hunted down some Star Wars art on Etsy, and wasn't disappointed.  I found some awesome prints for his room.

I made a lot of changes this week in his room, it was time to make it even more Big Boy.
I got him the mirror for over his night stand/dresser.

I bought these from Cutitoutart on Etsy.  The seller was awesome, more than happy to change the back ground color of each picture.  I love how Vader is red, it's such a cool pop of color with the other three in tan.  Connor picked which characters he wanted, I was surprised when he said he wanted Han Solo.

These are hung right next to the character art.  They are blueprints from 1977 of the two of the ships in the movie.  The Millennium Falcon and Luke's Land Speeder.  I bought these from Goblinhut on Etsy, very cool.

Then I found these movie posters at Joneallen, again on Etsy.  They were originally 11x17, but I asked if they could be made into 11x14, and of course they could!  How awesome is that!  I just love the helpful sellers on Etsy and the unique items you can find.

Not sure if you remember these, but they were originally red, I decided to tone the red in his room and painted them Almond.  I should mention the 5 layers of primer it took to cover the red!  Yikes, red is hard to cover.  Then I took my chalk and wrote "May the Force be with you" on the top one.  The bottom one is a magnet board I made, the magnets are clone trooper, I made them too. How fun!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out his big boy room!  May the Force be with YOU!!
xx

I love the vintage pictures of the characters. My boy is 17 now and was such a Star Wars fan when he was little. Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Your post brought back those sweet memories!

You get 5 stars for being the mom every kid wants. I think that was so very thoughtful of you, to give your son a room he could love.

And it looks beautiful, not an easy task to pull off in kids' rooms sometimes.

Thanks for sharing.

How sweet a mom are you? Jordan would love this room! You did a great job lining up the pictures. I'm really really bad at that. I think all 3 boys have been a character from Star Wars every Halloween. Wonder what they will come up with this year? Hmmm... maybe, Darth Vader, haha!

I need your energy.

Just saw a post yesterday on a blog where the mom made her son a darth vadar lamp. She gives a tutorial at imamomnotaprofessional.blogspot.com. I think she posted it on April 9th. Thought your son might like it too. I'm not a big star wars fan, but you did a great job on his room!

That is so nice. I didn't get framed pictures in my room until I was an adult. My mom was not so into decorating.

My husband is obsessed with SW. He wanted to name my 24 yr old son Luke but I didn't. We named him Mark and when he found out just a few years ago that Luke was in consideration for his name, he was quite bummed we picked Mark! Oh well! You did a great job on your son's room, the blueprints are so cool.

So cute! What a fun inspiration for his room! We are not into Star Wars yet (still getting over Bob the Builder), but there's a 5-year-old in my Sunday School class who can sing the ENTIRE theme song perfectly and quotes the movie like crazy. Things to look forward to! Thanks for the super cute and inspiring idea!

My 4yo son is obsessed with Star Wars, too! He's already told me he wants to be Darth Maul for Halloween and with a request like that, I'm going to have to plan ahead for that costume. :) Awesome job with this room--your son is one lucky boy to have such a creative, generous momma!

Have a fun day!
