Meet Meg and Mum's, Week 15

G'day to all my fellow Type A followers!  My name is Megan from over at Meg and Mum's and I hail from Adelaide, South Australia.  I was so chuffed when Tammy asked me to do a guest post for her blog.  It's my first ever guest post and I'm a little nervous.

This is me

I've been blogging since last October but have always tried my hand at DIY stuff and recycling furniture, which keeps me occupied whilst looking after my four year old daughter at home.  I also have a five year old daughter, two step-kids and two step-grandkids.  Yes my husband is a fair bit older than me, but he's the best husband and friend anyone could ask for.  My four year old is due to start school in September so I can go back to my work as a legal secretary and be with grown ups.  Hooray!

Admittedly my husband has taught me a lot about fixing up furniture and painting as he is a painter himself, so I always have plenty of tins of paint handy in the garage and no shortage of materials.  And when I find stuff on Freecycle or the side of the road he'll quite happily go pick it up for me in his van, no matter how crusty and ugly the item might be.
My taste varies as I tend to get bored very quickly.  I love funky retro stuff, but I also really enjoy painting and creating French/shabby chic furniture.  I've dabbled in some reupholstery projects too.  Here are a few before and afters...

and my latest...

Occasionally I feature some of my Mum's mosaic pieces.  She is super talented!

Thanks so much for tuning in and reading my story.  Please feel free to mosey on over to my blog and say hi!

And thanks to Tammy for being a lovely host.  I'm always up for one of her parties :)

Megan, thanks for being a guest!  What ahhhhmazing afters!  Love the newest piece, so retro and fun.  Your Mom's mosaics are fabulous too!
