Okay, so if you haven't noticed by now I HEART color. This is not a blog about all things white, black or neutral. I love those colors as well and I follow quite a few blogs about them, but I need COLOR!
Not to long ago I was looking for the perfect piece to replace the less than perfect piece I had...yep the little table by my entry way wasn't making the cut. It was too little and had hardly any storage. One more thing to know about me, everything has it's place and it better be in it!
This is when I found this beauty on craigslist and KNEW, yep I was that sure, that I had to have it. She even looked pretty good as is, but wasn't quite ME! I should have taken more pics of the steps I took to get her all beautiful but, I didn't. I could say I'll be better about it in the future, but we all know that's not true...lol
After a good a sanding, priming, painting with Bauhaus Gold by Rustoleum (yep, spray paint) and glazing with Ralph Lauren Coffee, this is what I had created! Color! And I sprayed the original hardware with ORB, who doesn't love ORB?
This is what she looks like now, I added a few ton of stuff to her, and a new rug to bring in more COLOR. I'm also getting ready for Christmas, notice some of my decorations.
Even I am shocked when I look at this picture, but yes, this is my house when I moved in six years ago. A boring blank slate, I hadn't quite developed my designer side. I can't even believe it's the same house, or how I used to NOT decorate. Scary stuff.
Do you have any brightly colored piece you'd like to share? I would love to see it. Happy Decorating!

The before and afters still crack me up! I remember when and you used to say "Less is more in my book" and now you say "I could fill up a 10,000 sf home! Let me at it!" You go girl, I love your house.
at this rate i may need two houses!!! lol
I really like the yellow. When I saw the title on MMS I wasn't sure. I was afraid I'd see some banana yellow monstrosity, but it is GORGEOUS! The glazing over the yellow really makes the piece.
I love yellow too! I recently did a yellow dresser and I loved it. Great job!
love the yellow dresser..

I just picked up the EXACT same buffet thingie off CL. What fun trying to maneuver it down these people's stairs. Spray paint you say, hmmmm. Love the yellow/gold you chose. Really nicely done! Off to check out your blog!
I love what you have done! I am a color addict and admire neutrals but I would be so depressed with out bold colors! My china cabinet was a very similar yellow to yours. I painted it green not to long ago. Come by and visit sometime!

Great job! Thats a beautiful piece now.
Love it! I just dove into a can of yellow paint myself and the results were perfect! I love color as well! Love your style!
You get such good deals on Craigslist, Tammy. It seems that by the time I find them - in my area - they're already spoken for.
Have a great weekend! And thanks for linking to the party.

I just bought a buffet very similar to that at Goodwill last week. It's been sitting in my living room waiting for it to tell me what color it wants to be. I never thought of yellow, but that looks great!
Hi there~ This dresser looks just gorgeous~ I love yellow furniture too! Thanks for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday! :)
Your yellow buffet is gorgeous!
