I'm ALIVE!!!! Pinky Swear...

  I really can't believe how bad of a blogger I've been lately, really in awe of my 'badness'.  Okay so the new me isn't going to make promises any more. 

Really I'm not sure what my problem is lately, stress maybe?  Probably.  Definetely. 

So I'm still waiting to hear back from the bank on this house.  I love this home too, it's half a block up the street from my current home, on the same side of the street.  My kids will get to stay close to all their friends, and I get 1000 more square feet.  I call that a WIN WIN!  Now come on bank.

I have been getting rid of a lot of stuff lately, purging for the move.  I have a ton of stuff to put on craigslist. 

I have more than this, but some of it is in my house and I'm using it until we move.  I bought all of these items to use in the 'next' house, but that was when the 'next' house was even bigger. 

I planned on refinishing all of the pieces, but that isn't gonna happen, I hope they all find good homes.   I have some great finds to share with you too.

Hello Spring Break...

Spring Break just started for my Son, my Daughter has school.  She's in Pre K so they don't really get a Spring Break, and since I'm paying for it, she's going! 

The last week has been a little rough.  My Daughter is ornery, to say the least, but lately she's just been down right awful.  I've had to start taking her toys away, and she's been losing privileges left and right.  She doesn't get to go to one of her best friend's birthdays and if she keeps it up, she won't be having a party this year.  It'll just be family with some presents and cupcakes.  I hate to do this, but she has to get under control.  I've been making a point to spend a lot of one on one time with her too.  She's actually doing much better.  Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Then Stanley has developed a food guarding/aggression and we almost took him back to the breeder.  He bit Lauren again, and again drew blood.  He gets one more strike and then he's out.  I talked to a behaviour specialist and I've been working with him every day.  Again fingers crossed.  He's been doing really well, and I hope he continues to do better.  I love him and would hate to not have him, but lets face it Lauren is much more important than the dog. 

Today the boy and I bonded over having my blood drawn and peeing in a cup.  Well, he wasn't there for the cup part, and mostly he hid behind a chair for the blood part.  I think he would have rather been in school today.  I don't blame him.  I have a bad gall bladder, and I guess it's about time I had it out.  Sigh. 

On a positive note, I'm blogging more this week.  I've made a some great finds too.

Of course now I'm on the hunt for more fun vintage fabrics/linens.  I swear I need a 12 step program.  My Hubby would agree.

Fan Finds...

Get it?  Fan finds...instead of fun finds...lol  Snort. Snort. Yeah yeah, I'm that funny, really. 

I found a couple fans and had to share.  I think they will look in the next house in my son's room...or in my garage cause I'm totally in denial and there never will be a next house.  Sigh.

Bonus, they both work, however they may be dangerous.  Little fingers might get caught in them.  They won't be allowed to be turned on and I will probably keep them high up on shelf.  Either way, they will look cool, and some days I'm all form over function.

Needless to the say the boy child wasn't impressed with his new old fans. 

Next on the horizon, collecting globes.  I think they would look great in a boys room too, with some vintage luggage and his old typewriter.  He'll have a fun vintage travel room yet!

 

Fun Finds!!!

You know me and 'finding' stuff, it's like an addiction. 

Well I found this fun vintage type writer for my son's room.  He was all, "can I play with it", and I was "um no".  Geesh kid it's just for looks.  My poor kids.  Right now it's living in the garage.  It's were all the 'new' house stuff goes to wait....and wait...

I couldn't resit this little beauty, I'm loving silver trophies.  I'm thinking of adding some thing green to it, but right now it sits as is. 

Check out this adorable lamp.  Hobnail milk glass.  Lauren loves it.  I just adore vintage.

This wasn't a find so much as a given.  My bestie's Aunt gave them to me.  Eight of the pretties gold rimmed plates ever!  Thanks Aunt Kelly!

So there yo have it, I haven't been doing any projects, just some therapy shopping.  Cheaper than a therapist too!

 

Hunter Gather #7

The Bella Cottage GIVE AWAY

Welcome to an another Edition of my Hunter Gather Party.  I hope you guys are having a wonderful Holiday Season and have had a luck hunting and gathering!

I had a little luck.  I really wanted angel wings for my Santos girl, and thanks to Shannon and Fox Hollow Cottage I found one!

I had to use a counter balance of bling to keep the wings from falling to her waist, even she deserves bling!

No one wanted to guess what I paid for her.  A Santos website sells her for $79, I paid $35 at my local antique mall!  Total score.

Then I found this on my door step, well the door bell rang and the FedEx Gentleman helped me drag it in the house.  Almost like White Glove delivery, with out the gloves or set up. 

7 feet of box, bubble wrap, packing popcorn and tape.   

I have to admit, this doesn't make me happy.  I taped the  box back up and left most of the popcorn in it, the rest took 3 garbage bags and a dust pan to scoop up.  I even fell once when the tape caught my shoe.  That tape is strong!  A side from the mess it was packed really well. 

TADA!  My new beautiful clock  from The Bella Cottage!  I love her, and them.  They are great, customer service are Rock Stars over there.  Thanks Samantha  for letting me know when my baby shipped!  This is my first Christmas present in 7 years!  Thanks Beefcake!

The kids asked why Santa delivered my present early, easy kids, he wanted to make sure he had room  for all of your presents!  That totally worked too.  Suckers!  Insert evil laugh.

Hunter Gatherer Party #4 - CHRISTMAS GUEST SERIES UPDATE

I know today is Black Friday, so you may still be out hunting and gathering your precious finds, but if you have some finds you would like to share this is the place to be!  I hope everyone had a joy filled pants splitting day yesterday. 

I didn't even bother with Black Friday this year, I bought the rest of my presents online.  Saved me in gas, and hassle.  No lines, no other shoppers, no trying to park.  I didn't have to pay a babysitter either.

I don't really have any 'finds' this week to share, but I thought I would share a few of the presents I bought my kiddos this year.

Hunter Gatherer Party #1

I thought I would  try something different, a party just for FINDS!  Please link up any and all finds, or what I like to refer to as stuff I've Hunted and Gathered!  Cause, some times you really do have to hunt down your finds! 

It would be great if you included where you like to Hunt and Gather, some of us are just starting out and could use any info you'd like to share!

Find or Hunt?

Really, do we find our great stuff or hunt for it?   I mean I've never walked outside and just found something awesome sitting by the front porch, unless I've paid the shipping and handling.  Search is actually a better description, I'm always searching stores and online, but I like the word HUNT better. 

So I'll just show you want I hunted and gathered this week, I'm just like a caveman, well without the big stick.  Remove the big stick and insert my bank card and there you have it, I'm a modern day Hunter Gatherer!

First up, a pair of these beautiful chairs!  The are from the Brown Palace, it's an old Hotel in Colorado.  Tea house too I think?  Anyway they are for Lo's room and are pretty just the way they are! 

A Couple Fun Finds....and Pictures of Stanley!!!!

Not really sure what should take top billing here, the finds or Stanley?  lol  Okay, Stanley!  He's pretty awesome, but I'm not gonna sugar coat it, it's been rough.  The kids don't help either. they just aggravate the situation.  They want boss him around, but mostly the just confuse him. 

He's really a momma's boy too.  I'm at my desk typing up this post and he's in my lap using my left arm as a sling for his head.  When I watch t.v. he lays by me, when we sleep, he sleeps by me.  I think you get the picture, he likes me.  I like him too.

How can you not love this face!  This is his little bed, by my desk and his elephant, boy does he love that toy!

Now what to do with it???

I wish I had a project to share, but I don't....something that included paint...even glue...I really need to get in gear.  R.E.A.L.L.Y. 

Okay, so not a project, but I do have this G.R.E.A.T. find!  Now what to do with it, other than the obvious.  Clean it, that is. 

Fun Finds!

Finally, some fun finds to share.  I haven't been shopping this Summer, busy with the hubby, and now with the kids.  That all changed on Saturday when Sommer and I met up with Jane and did some retail therapy and lunch!

This was our Colorado meet up in Boulder at The Paris Street Market!  We had a blast and Jane is amazing.  Her house is adorable, and so are her chickens!

Not sure if you would consider this a true find.  I didn't hunt for it, I kinda just stumbled across, didn't even know I needed it, until I saw it. 

Looky What I Found!

I went to the flea market the other day with a good friend we found NOTHING!  Yep, a whole lot of zilch.  I was pretty bummed until we went to HomeGoods, and you know, my friend had never been?  Crazy right?

I got a couple tins, they have a fun vintage feel.  My son really like this one, he's learning about Abe at school and he's his favorite President.  Funny part is that the 6 year old noticed this way up there! 

He didn't mention the one on the counter, funny how boys can see what's right in front of them!

Then I found Big Ben to go with my Eiffel Tower, and this cute message board with chandeliers.  Now I need to make some cute tacks for it. 

Check out this baby!  I've been wanting a wooden bowl for ever.  Me and my bestie answered a craigslist add, and this baby was on the lady's basement floor waiting for me!!!

Chicken towels from Joann's, 1/2 off.

This next item needs background music, or mood lighting.  I swear when I saw it sitting on the shelf at Pier 1 my heart stopped.  I didn't need to replace the lamp on the trunk, I was actually shopping for a lamp to go on the yellow buffet.  It could not be helped, I'm in love with this lamp.

I've been wanting a bottle holder forever, well for a long time, and I finally found one.  Love this, can't wait to find some cute coffee mugs to hang on  it!
