New(er) TV Stand!

Let me just start with, Yippee!!!  I'm so excited to have this piece finished and in place.  I just love how it turned out and how great it looks in place!

This was my first time using stain, and I was a little nervous at first.  My bestie, Sommer cured me right away.  Don't get me wrong stain is not my new favorite, but I'm not scared of it anymore.  Which is a good thing, I've got a kitchen table in the garage screaming at me to stain it!!!  (one at a time!  geez, dang projects...)

Here is the before shot, sorry I took the drawers and doors off.  You get the idea, great bones, wrong color.  I've got to have color, of course not too much, that's why I stained the top.

And here she is in all her glory!!!  My new(er) TV stand.  Some where an Angel just got his wings!!!  lol  Or not, but you get where I'm going with this.  This is my 'ahhhhh' moment, very similar to bliss.

I just want to hug her and tell her how pretty she is...okay so I'm a little crazy.  She got new drawer pulls and the hinges were painted ORB, of course.  I heart ORB.

Now I'm off to finish sanding a table top...she's calling my name.

Silhouette Envy

It's true, I'm envious of everyone that owns a Silhouette.  I feel like the last crafter to get one...I entered a few  give aways, one at Shanty2Chic, The Idea Room, Tatertots and Jello, and Just a Girl, so cross your fingers I win!  I'm already dreaming of all the stuff I could do with it!

Check out the Silhouette site, it really is the greatest thing since the light bulb.  REALLY!  The have a sale going on right now too, 40% off everything but the machine if you use the code FRIDAY.

Here is the machine.

This is a great sample of what you can do with it, just in time for the holidays!!!!

Fingers Crossed I win!!!  WINK WINK!!!

Christmas Presents, Who doesn't love 'em?

Everyone who knows me, knows I love all things Etsy.  Really, they have EVERYTHING!  If you haven't checked them out yet, you don't know what you are missing.  I'll make it easy for you, click HERE, the Etsy world awaits.

Even I have two shops on Etsy.  One for buying, and one for selling.  Okay, so the one for buying has been used a TON.  The selling one, now so much.  I'm all set up and ready to go, but alas I'm to busy lazy to stock it.  I will tell you this, when I do finally open the store, I'll blog about it here.

For the time being, I want to brag about my Bestie (yes this is a word) Sommer over at Designer Garden and her Etsy shop SewStylishBowtique.  This girl has got talent, and I'm not just saying this 'cause we are good friends.  Check out her blog and her shop, she won't disappoint you!

This is a sample of the home decor she has in her shop.   She custom makes everything, and is uber friendly and professional.  She even makes kids clothes.

Here is a taste of her Christmas line up.  She has quite a few different ornaments in stock, and if you see something on her blog, just convo her to see if she would do a custom listing.  I'm sure she would, she's really that great.

I know, how shameful of me to plug all my friends!  Hey I'm an equal opportunity plugger.  If you have something you want me to share, send me an email.   I would be more than happy to give you some kudos too!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Tammy ;)

Yellow Buffet? Yep Yellow!

Okay, so if you haven't noticed by now I HEART color.  This is not a blog about all things white, black or neutral.  I love those colors as well and I follow quite a few blogs about them, but I need COLOR!

Not to long ago I was looking for the perfect piece to replace the less than perfect piece I had...yep the little table by my entry way wasn't making the cut.  It was too little and had hardly any storage.  One more thing to know about me, everything has it's place and it better be in it!

This is when I found this beauty on craigslist and KNEW, yep I was that sure, that I had to have it.   She even looked pretty good as is, but wasn't quite ME!  I should have taken more pics of the steps I took to get her all beautiful but, I didn't.  I could say I'll be better about it in the future, but we all know that's not true...lol

After a good a sanding, priming, painting with Bauhaus Gold by Rustoleum (yep, spray paint) and glazing with Ralph Lauren Coffee, this is what I had created!  Color!  And I sprayed the original hardware with ORB, who doesn't love ORB?

This is what she looks like now, I added a few ton of stuff to her, and a new rug to bring in more COLOR. I'm also getting ready for Christmas, notice some of my decorations.

Even I am shocked when I look at this picture, but yes, this is my house when I moved in six years ago.  A boring blank slate, I hadn't quite developed my designer side.  I can't even believe it's the same house, or how I used to NOT decorate.  Scary stuff.

Do you have any brightly colored piece you'd like to share?  I would love to see it.  Happy Decorating!

Tammy ;)

Couldn't Resist...Had to post again!

I'm not sure what has gotten into me today...I just felt like posting again...

I guess I really just had a desire to brag about my wall of frames!  Love them, and the lovely Lady Courtney from TimelessNChic that made them for me, you can shop her store here, and I recommend you do.  Disappoint is not in her vocabulary.

Not all of them went on the wall, I had other homes intended for a couple of my beauties.   This lovely chunky one ended up in my craft hutch.

And this one gave off a beachy feel, that had to be displayed in my bathroom!  See those adorable cranes next to the frame?  Yep, Courtney did those too...she's actually done quite a few things for me, I'm addicted to her!

So, after you check her out and buy a dozen of your own beauties, send me a pic.  I would love to drool over what she created for you.  ;)

The Ottoman...and don't say finally! lol

Okay, so I haven't kept up my end of the bargain...I know I know...I should BLOG more!  I know you've been waiting for a picture of the ottoman in all it's glory, so here it is.  Enjoy!

I was going to upholster this, but the fabric I chose wasn't working with the staples, so the Bestie...i.e. Sommer over at Designer Garden created this lovely slip cover for me.  She's also been giving me sewing lessons?  I wonder if that is a hint?

And here is a closer up with the tray I made to go on the ottoman.  You just have to love Goodwill and Mod Podge!

I hope you are as happy as I am with the end result!

Starting the week of December 1st you should check out 'Twelve Blogs of Christmas over at, Designer Garden, it's going to be fabulous!  (and I am participating!  crazy right?  lol)
