Against my Better Judgement....

Let me start out with this, my Hubby is a serious stalker of my blog, and this post will most likely get me in a little trouble.  Maybe even more than a little.

All of you know that we are considering buying a new(er) house, either new to us or just plain new. Being the thrifty gal I am, have started colletcting furniture and other items for the "next" house.  I like to plan ahead, and I hate to miss out on an amazing deal, even if I can't park in the garage this winter.

Please ignore the garbage, but it has to live in the garage too.

I do have a path to the door at least....

So that's a lot of stuff for the next house, or not.  I may refinish some of the items to sell.  Actually I know I will, just not sure which ones.

Want the break down of what's in the garage, so of the stuff is in the house too but I will share those items in a later post.  There's only so much trouble I like to get into at once.

Break Down:
1 Armoire
1 Cane Back Settee
1 Pallet
2 Buffets
3 Mirrors
1 Dining Table
2 sets of 4 Chairs
1 extra Chair  (yes that is a total of 9 chairs)
1 Nightstand
1 Library Step
1 Coffee Table
1 End Table
3 Full Beds with headboards, footboards and rails
5 Dressers

I did sell one dresser and one mirror, or I would have more in the garage...so there's that.  One bed and one dresser will be sold for sure.  A few pieces in my house now are gonna be sold to make room for the new stuff in the next house.

Of course I don't have to tell you, but Hubby...I didn't spend a lot, everything is from Craigslist or Freecycle!

My garage looks very similar. Someone told my husband the other day, " you're wife is so creative." He said, "I know, I have a whole garage full of creativity!"

There is nothing wrong with being prepared for a new home! And at least you have a path to the door!

Have a great weekend.

That is quite a stash!! I'm quite jealous of your preparedness. I really wish we had a garage so I could start collecting items for the next few rooms we are doing.

You have it all organized really well. Mine looks worse and I'm not saving for a new house, although I wish I was. Hugs, Marty

I wish we had a garage! My husband is the one that goes around getting stuff people are getting rid of so now my house looks like a storage unit. What an awesome stash to use or sell.

You have some awesome pieces in there I can see why it would be hard to pass them by.

Who needs to park a car? This is a much better use of the space!!

I think it's a great idea to start getting things now when you find great deals. That way you don't go spending a ton of money at once to furnish your new house, or have to wait and live with an empty house. It's nice to know that when you move in you'll have everything you need to decorate.

I love that armoire!

My daughter is working towards getting her own place and is collecting furniture, so that she will have what she needs when she moves out. In the meantime, my garage has a similar decor.

We are getting ready to build another two car garage onto our home so my bay can look like this. However, we live in a small town and don't have luck with Craigslist or Freecycle. I don't want to drive an hour or two away. But auctions and garage sales are good here. I spy a few pieces I would love to redo in your pile.

My garage is starting to look a little like that too! I had to clear it out so I could park in it last night. Early snowstorm is cramping my style.
