WWW #5

What I'm eating, What I weigh and What She wore....#5

So I'm done with the 12 week plan I was following from the Kristi Approved Plan, only I'm not?  Yep still eating from the meal plan, but now I just mix and match the six meals I eat.
Currently the fave is chicken w/sweet potatoes and veggies.  Yummy!  I put curry powder on the chicken.  You can have what ever veggies you like too.  I had mushrooms, zucchini, yellow squash and parsnips.  Yep, parsnips!  lol  I love them, but they are an acquired taste I'm told.  lol

Wednesday Weigh In, What I'm Eating, What She Wore #4

Okay so I'm back to my regular scheduled workouts, no more daily videos.  So far no pain, and since it's only been 2 days not a huge difference in my weight loss.  It wasn't a bad week,  I lost 1.5 lbs, now the grand total lost is 23.5 lbs for a new weight of 151.5 lbs.  Hopefully after a week of my workouts I'll start to see the scale go down even faster.  Vacation is in 6 weeks!  Yikes.  Hubby is home in 5 weeks, double Yikes!

My favorite meal this week is my tuna/egg salad.  It is so yummy, and easy.

2 cups lettuce
green onions
1/2 can tuna, in water
1 hard boiled egg
1 tb light mayo
2 tb sugar free sweet relish

Look at what she's wearing this week!  Omg, she is a funny girl.

Here she is trying on her pool cover up, she had to have new clothes for the trip!

I love how she tried her suit on with her undies still on!  She's gonna be so stylish on vacation!

Don't forget to check out my Give Away and Party! xx

Wednesday Weigh In, What I'm Eating, What She Wore #3

So I weighed today and I'm happy to report that my new weight is 153 lbs!  Total loss of 22  lbs!  Here's a new picture too.  What do you think of my new hair color?  I'm thinking of highlights for the Disney trip, and suggestions?

I love what I'm eat this week, it's what the kids are eating too! Yep still sticking to my diet, but now I'm getting the kids in on it, I figure we should all eat healthy.  They weren't too happy about it at first, but they are coming along.  I'm still eating off the Kristi Approved Menu, but now at dinner time we all sit down and eat a healthy meal together.  I got rid of their Oreos too!  Vanilla wafers and sugar free chocolate pudding for them.
Here is one of the dinners we had this week, love it!
English muffin
2 oz ham
1 egg
2 egg whites
2 tb corn
2 tb low fat cheddar cheese
Now on to the good stuff, What She Wore.  Well we got a mani/pedi, she did, I just got a pedi.  We are wearing matching toe color, and look at it paired with her new dress.  I bought it for the Disney trip, I figured she should have a couple of dresses for dinners.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget about my Give Away and my Party!!!

Have a great one!  xx

Friday Fitness #8

I would love to report that I'm back to my old work out, but I haven't even tried it.  I have been working out 6 days per week.  I'm loving my videos right now, so I may keep up with them for a couple more weeks. Plus I have lost 2lbs a week for the last two weeks, so very happy with that.

I just bought a new Firm video, go figure right?  lol  I really like the Firm, I won't bore you with all that again.  I guess the reason I love videos is because I can do them in my own home.  I know some folks love the gym, and the gym is great.  The only thing...you have to pay to go to the gym, if you have kids you have to pay more, and you have to drive there.

Of course the perks of working out of home, I don't have to pay any one to watch my kids, the TV does that for me!  lol  Plus I can pause my video to go to the  bathroom, and I don't know about you, but I have to pee a lot when I work out.  Must be a mommy thing?  Two kids later I have no bladder control.  Sorry.

Plus videos are just like taking the gym classes, but now one gets in your way, and you can see and hear the instructor.  My fave, I can turn the fan on high and point it right at me!  I will always work out at home.

Here's a little truth, videos and the gym only work if you do.  Neither will get you the results you want if you don't put in the effort.

That's all for this week.  If you have any questions, tips, send them my way.  I would love to know if you use videos and which ones you love, I'm always on the hunt for a new one.

I would also like to mention one other thing, if you are new to working out please consult a doctor before you start.  Just to be safe.  xx

What I'm Eating, Wednesday Weigh In, What She Wore #2

Okay so my favorite dish this week!  Is my beef jerky and island smoothie!!!  lol  It's the only beef I've been allowed, and when you've gone this long with out, the jerky is a real TREAT!  The smoothie is good too.  Even when I'm not dieting, I stay away from too much animal fat.  I've had a few specialist tell me I need my gall bladder removed.  Instead of having it removed, I just don't over work it.

1 1/2 oz beef jerky

Smoothie:
1/3 orange
4 strawberries
some ice and water, blend

So my weight loss is back on track, two more lbs this week.  Total of 19 lbs in 10 weeks.  Not to shabby, hoping to make up for those two bad weeks.  I'm that much closer to my goal!  Whew, that's a load off.  Vacation is June 1st -8th, so hopefully by then I will have lost 30 lbs.  My goal is 40, as long as I don't over do it on vacation, I should be able to lose the rest before the Summer is over, maybe even by the 4th of July.  That's my goal.  I have to tell you I'm very excited about shopping for some cute clothes!

Here's my ham and what she wore!  Check out the shoes!  Aren't they cute?  She picked them out, my girl has her own style for sure.  lol  Sorry about the pictures, she didn't want to stand still.  Moving targets are hard to photograph.  That she was trying to eat her donut!

She's yelling at me for taking her picture.  Nice donut.

She's not amused by me at all!

Have a great one!  xx

Fitness Friday #7

My back and hip are SO much better.  I'm still being careful, but at the same time I'm still working out.  My doctor told me to workout at 70%, I took this to mean 70% of MY custom workout that I create, not 70% of my videos.  My videos are much easier than what I create.  I'm a little worried since I haven't done one of my own workouts in almost 2 weeks.  Oh well, if I have to work back up to it, I don't have much choice.  I really can't afford to mess up my back and hip again, really, the chiropractor is $$$.  lol

This week I've been doing some of my Firm favorites, I used to be addicted to The Firm, still am really.  My own workouts are kind of based on their method.  Four limbed aerobics with weights.  You really sweat doing these, even the EASY ones will make you sweat.  I like the ones where I DRIP!  Those are the best!

My favorites this week are.... Power Burn 45, it's fun and you sweat.  I did two back to back the other day, cause they are pretty short, but that is nice on a day you don't have a lot of time.

Total Body Shaping Mix, it's fun too.  A little old school Firm.  It's a mix of routines from past Firm Videos.

I'm not sure what Firm I'll do today, I own like 10.  I do know which ever one I do, I'll sweat and it'll be easy to follow.  The Firm instructors are great at cuing their workouts.

Happy Exercising!!  xx

What I'm Eating, Wednesday Weigh In, & What She Wore!

Check out my Tues-Thurs Party!!!

Okay, so my back is better and I've followed strict doctors orders.  His orders, give him lots of my money and only work out at 70%.  Both have been rough!  Specially the money part.  lol

So I've finally broken my plateau, and my physical condition seems to being improving too.  I only have one more week at 70% work outs, and then I get to increase as much as feels good.  I don't need another set back, my vacation is only 9 weeks away!

I'm actually down 2 lbs this week, so my new total is 17 lbs lost in 9 weeks.  I wish it were more, but with the set backs I've had, I'm still pretty dang happy.  I have 9 weeks to lose 13 more lbs.  Wish me luck!!!  My actual goal is to lose 23 lbs more, but I will be happy with 13 more lbs lost by vacation time, I can lose the rest when I get home from Disney.

So I'm changing it up a bit, here is my favorite meal of the day!

Meal #6
BBQ Pizza
1 sandwich thin
2 tb bbq sauce
3 oz chicken
2 tb cheese
2 tb pineapple
onion
bell pepper
steamed veggie on the side!

Yummy!

I also had to add a shot of my favorite beverage.  I can't live with out this.  Iced Coffee.  Not sure what I would do if I didn't drink this everyday.  I don't think  I could function.

On to some cuteness!  What She Wore!  I've seen a lot of bloggs that do posts about what they wore, and until I'm happier with my body I'm going to use my daughter as the model!  lol
Isn't she sassy?  Love the bracelet and ring, gotto have bling!
Thanks for stopping by! xx

WHERE I PARTY!!!

Starting Over....

It's not a dream come true, but I guess I will be starting over with my diet/exercise plan.  Went to the chiropractor today.  FUN STUFF!  I'm in awful shape, lucky me.  I could bore you with all the details, but basically I have the back of 70 year old woman.

I really kinda knew this, and if I had been smart I would have started back with the chiropractor before I started exercising.  I'm not that smart apparently.

I've loss 4 days, no workouts, and I can start back working out 100%.  I have to modify at 70% of where I was last week.  Really not happy.  So to help kick start my body and get past this dang plateau, and being sick and in pain for the last 4 days, I'm starting over.

Yep gonna go back to WEEK 1 of the Kristi Approved Diet.  Weeks 1-4 had the best weight loss for me, and I'm hoping they will again.  It's crunch time, vacation crunch time that is.  I have 10 weeks to lose 15 lbs.  I really want to lose 25 more lbs, but I just don't think 10 weeks is enough time.  I really can't afford to push my back and hip any more than I already have.

So there you have it, tomorrow, I start over.  I promise not to bore you with weekly pictures and all my stats.  I'm just gonna keep is short and sweet and just give you an update of my weight loss.  I do promise one last picture before I go on vacation, just so show you how far I've come.

Thanks for being the best support group in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!  I promise to stay positive and not give up! xx

Monday's Measurements #8

I would love to tell you that I beat the plateau, but I got sick on Wednesday and was sick until Sunday.  I didn't work out for three days!  I didn't gain any, but again I didn't lose any!  Damn germs.  I haven't been sick in I don't know when and all of a sudden bam!  Hopefully I report a huge loss next week.  I have to go to the chiropractor this week too, walking around like a gimp!  lol  Not sure what the deal is, but whenever I lose weight my right hip acts up.  20 adjustments later I should be better.

Happy Monday!  xx

Fitness Friday #5

I've shown you some of the resistant bands I use, and the balls of various sizes, you even got to see my gym.  This week I'm going to show three more things that I use every  time I work out.

First up is the Fanny Lifter by the Firm, LOVE this.  I could only find a picture on Ebay, they are hard to come by.  The closest to this is the Transfirmer step, which is great too, but larger.  I have both, but only use the Transfirmer when I'm doing the videos that go with it.  I used to be addicted to The Firm vidoes, kinda still am.

Fanny lifter!  It does just that too.  You put a foot in the center and step up and down, switch feet, work both legs.  Trust me your booty will be on fire, you'll be out of breath and your legs will be wobbly.
I love it because it comes in two sections, 6 inch purple, 8 inch blue, together they are 14 inches.  You can start out with purple and work up to blue or both.  Trust me starting with 14 inches wouldn't be the best idea.
It depends on the exercise, but I use either the blue section or both.  I'm crazy like that.

Weighted vest, another fave, love this.  I wear it every workout.  I own two.  Wearing this will make you sweat more, and really works your lower body when doing standing exercises.  Exercises like squats, lunges and my fave Plies.  I work my inner thighs until they scream.  Poor fat inner thighs.

Why do I have two?  The first one I bought is to bulky and hard to exercise in, was really made for a man.  This one, I got at Walmart, is contoured and fits nicely.  It only goes up to 12 lbs, so it will be replaced soon with the new and improved model.  My dream vest goes from 12lbs to 20lbs.  Walmart only sells it online, but shipping to the store is free.

Dream Vest!

Hand weights, must have item.  I recommend a few different sizes too.  Different muscles use different weights.  My chest and back are much stronger than my triceps and shoulders.  Why you ask, your chest and back are much larger muscle groups.  Larger muscles can use larger weights, plus they burn more calories.

I love hand weights with the neoprene coating on them, they don't slip when your hands get sweaty.  Trust me when I say this, when I work out everything is sweaty.  It's not pretty, but hopefully the end result will be!!!

Happy Fitness Friday!  Now get out there and sweat!  xx

Monday's Measurements #6

Hey All!  Another week completed, 6 so far.
Last week was hard for me, I stuck to my diet, but I really didn't want to a couple days. I wasn't hungry, I just didn't want to eat what I was allowed to eat! The cravings passed, but it was touch and go a few times. I can say this, I'm over watching the kids eat what I want to eat! lol

I guess some weeks will be harder than others, that's to be expected.  Just like some weeks I'll lose more than others.  I'm not looking forward to my first plateau, that's for sure.  I think I may curl up in a ball and cry if I go a week without losing, but it happens to ALL of us.

Since I just finished week 6, yep, half way done with the 12 week program.  I thought I would post a picture from my first week, as a little reminder of where I started.   I'm not quitting after 12 weeks, I think I'll just start over and do 6 more.  I only have 12 weeks left until vacation, so I have no time to slack.

Taken on Day 1

Taken on Day 43
I see a big difference in these two pictures and it's only been 6 weeks.

Okay, I'm down another1.5 lbs and 3 inches, my grand totals are 15 lbs and 18.5 inches.
I'm not crazy about the weight loss this week, but the inches are outstanding.  My only theory is I'm building muscle, that's a good thing.  I like muscle!  I do feel firmer and things seem lifted.  lol

Okay here are my new measurements.

Shoulders 39.5/38.5 = -1
Chest  36 = same
RT/LT Biceps 10.75/10.75~ 10.5/10.5 = -.5
Waist  29.75 = same
Hips 39.5/ 39 =  -.5
RT/LT Thighs 23/22.75~22.75/22.5 = -.5
RT/LT Calves 13.75/13.75~13.5/13.5 = -.5

Happy Monday!  xx

Fitness Friday #3

This Fitness Friday is also a GIVE AWAY!  Who would like to win an Exercise Ball and set of resistance bands?  The ball comes with a pump.  The only thing, it's for folks that are on the taller side, I would say any one over 5'6" would be able to use it easily.

I'm not discriminating against the vertically challenged, this is the only size I have.  I'm 5'11", and was given this ball as a free gift with purchase from a company that can't be named.  I don't need this one so I want to share it with you.  I already have a ball like this, and this is one product I don't need two of!  lol

This is just a random picture I got of the Internet, the ball with be similar, but not exact.  I just didn't think there was a point in blowing up the ball for a picture, just to let the air out to mail it.  Imagine the size of the box if I sent it inflated!  lol

Natural Fitness Professional Burst-Resistant Exercise Ball, 75cm

I will add this, I use my ball every day.  I love it.  You can purchase these for between $6-$30.  When shopping for one look for the words 'burst resistant', and make sure they hold a lot of weight.  Trust me when you are bouncing up and down on  the ball the pressure is much more than you weigh.  This ball pictured here has a weight copacity of 2000lbs!  (that's a ton!)

The bands come in light, medium and heavy resistance.  They have one pair of handles that you can use on all three bands, and is really easy to change from band to band.
More related fitness news.  I did another of my new videos.  This one is by Gin Miller, of Reebok fitness fame.  She's been an instructor for many moons.  She does all kinds of videos too, step aerobics, strength training, interval training.  You name it.

I  purchased her video 'Seriously Strong', 72 minutes in length.  Collage Video had this to say about it, it's an Advanced Total Body Workout that is a Staff favorite and has received 5 stars from customers.

This is what I have to say about it.  Yowza!  My booty is sore today, but not in a bad way.  In a way that tells me if I do this work out enough the elevation of said booty will raise!  Again, it says it's for advanced, but you can make this work out your own.  She has two back up girls with her, and each one did a different level, with her doing the advanced.  She is a great instructor, has always been a favorite of mine.  I've been doing her work outs for since I was in my early 20's.

Okay so to enter the Exercise Ball Give Away, here are the rules.
Please leave me a comment stating that you are a follower, or just became one.  Yep, that's it.  Pretty easy.  I will announce the winner at Fitness Friday #4, please make sure I have away to contact  you.  If I can't get a hold of you I will have to draw another winner, as always I will  use Random.org to pick the winner.  Good Luck!

On to other Give Away news the Paint Deck winner is Lesley at Five Seconds From Crazy!!!
Just email me your address and I will send this out to you asap!!  Thnaks to everyone that entered!
Thanks for the support! xx
