Meet Life with the Hawleys, Week 30

Hello Type A readers!  I’m so happy to be visiting today!  I’m Darby and I blog over at Life with the Hawleys.  I blog about anything and everything, but today I want to share a super easy (and cheap) Christmas craft with you.    

   

This project only cost me 50 cents!  I purchased this plastic Christmas ball from Hobby Lobby.  Everything else I already had.

Please Explain

I love home decor and fashion as much as the next girl.  I have my own sense of style, and taste.  No two people are completely a like.  Please explain to me, on what planet, who would purchase 4 napkin rings for $119?  NAPKIN RINGS? 

Let me also state, they aren't sterling silver, or antique.  The are made out plastic with a SEASHELL glued to it!  Very cute, and I can see me making these some day, with items found at the DOLLAR STORE!

Hunter Gatherer Party #4 - CHRISTMAS GUEST SERIES UPDATE

I know today is Black Friday, so you may still be out hunting and gathering your precious finds, but if you have some finds you would like to share this is the place to be!  I hope everyone had a joy filled pants splitting day yesterday. 

I didn't even bother with Black Friday this year, I bought the rest of my presents online.  Saved me in gas, and hassle.  No lines, no other shoppers, no trying to park.  I didn't have to pay a babysitter either.

I don't really have any 'finds' this week to share, but I thought I would share a few of the presents I bought my kiddos this year.

I just wanted to take a minute and wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving.  I know it's one of the busiest holidays, all the cooking and traveling, I hope you are safe and surrounded by friends and family.  For those of you that may be a lone or separated from your loved ones, I hope you find some happiness this Thanksgiving.

Anything Goes #44, Highlights #43

I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week?!  Time goes by so fast, pretty much regardless of how much fun you're having.  Trust me, I was sick for a couple days, and it still went by fast!  lol

What are all of you doing for Thanksgiving?  Me and the kiddos are gonna be at the neighbors, eating a TurDucken.  No lie.  Hubby will still be in Afghanistan, hopefully his meal will be close to traditional.  Last year he said it was pretty good, for base food.  He'll be home in January so I'll make sure to make him some yummy stuff.

I've been working on a couple Christmas tutorials and some guest posts for other blogs, can't wait to share!

The Stan Man

Thought you'd like to see how he little man is growing!  Growing like a weed, and he's all legs!  He only has 'accidents' in the house if no one is paying attention.  Even a good dog can only sit by the back door for so long.  He can sit now, and occasionaly comes on command.  All in good time.  He sleeps pretty good at night and doesn't cry in his kennel as much as he used to.  Trust me, he's not in his kennel often, and he sleeps in my bed.  He has to be in the kennel when we are gone or I'm working out. 

He has the prettiest green eyes too, and gives kisses constantly!

Hunter Gatherer Party #3

Another week has come and gone and it's time to share our FINDS!!!!  I still can't believe next week is Thanksgiving.  Man where does the time go? 

So I mentioned it was my birthday the other day, so I wanted to share with you this week my birthday finds.  I'm not sure if you would consider them presents or not, I bought them for myself. per Hubby's instructions.  It's hard to send presents from Afghanistan.  :(

I'm sure if he was here, these are the wonderful presents he would have bought me himself!

Hey All, just wanted to let you know that I was guest posting today over at Dreaming In Color!

I thought I would  try something different, a party just for FINDS!  Please link up any and all finds, or what I like to refer to as stuff I've Hunted and Gathered!  Cause, some times you really do have to hunt down your finds!  Plus every great project starts out a FIND before it's an after!

I myself, love to shop Ebay, Etsy and local Antique malls.  I occasional get lucky at flea markets and stores like Home Goods and Marshalls.  Garage sales are a great source to, and of course CRAIGSLIST!

Meet Searching Out Simple, Week 27

Hi! I'm Rebecca from Searching Out Simple. I'm a wife to my soldier and mom to three kids and two dogs. I love to sew and make things from paper, glue & paint. Most of the time I'm making things for my kids or gifs for family and friends. I daydream about a pretty house that resembles my Pinterest board. It's so fun to be visiting Tammy today!

Some might say I'm cheap but I prefer thrifty. Why buy new when you can find gently used? My husband appreciates this about me and brings home 'goodies' for me on occasion. Recently he brought home a large cork board they were getting rid of at work. My son has been in need of a place to hang his drawings and things he likes to look at so I knew this would be perfect for him. {truth be told I still have a cork board sitting in my laundry room waiting for a makeover but I've already claimed it for myself}.

What I'm LOVING Right Now!!!

I found these chairs and my heart almost stopped, I'm hopping Santa brings me two.   So Santa if you are reading this, I said TWO.  I've been mostly good.

Find or Hunt?

Really, do we find our great stuff or hunt for it?   I mean I've never walked outside and just found something awesome sitting by the front porch, unless I've paid the shipping and handling.  Search is actually a better description, I'm always searching stores and online, but I like the word HUNT better. 

So I'll just show you want I hunted and gathered this week, I'm just like a caveman, well without the big stick.  Remove the big stick and insert my bank card and there you have it, I'm a modern day Hunter Gatherer!

Stick around till the end, I have an announcement or two.

First up, a pair of these beautiful chairs!  The are from the Brown Palace, it's an old Hotel in Colorado.  Tea house too I think?  Anyway they are for Lo's room and are pretty just the way they are!
