Curtains for Connor's Room

I decided that the dark blue curtains in Connor's room just weren't cutting it any more.  So  I made some out of drop cloths!  Yep, all by myself.  I was going to use the Stitch Witchery, and it sucked, I ended up sewing them instead.

Trust me they weren't hard.  I bought a 4x15 drop cloth and cut in in half so I would have to panels that measure 4x7.5.  Perfect for curtains.  I then just ironed a the edge so it was flat and did a simple zig zag stitch to secure it.  I used the curtain hard ware with the clips to put in on his curtain rod.  Connor's room used to be the guest room, the window hardware had the girly plastic globes on the end, so to make them less girly I spray painted them black.  I bought a can of spray paint for plastic, used to coats, no primer need.
Before, dark blue curtains, crystal plastic finials.

Clip hardware, and the stupid Stitch Witchery, it's going back to Joann's.

After, bright happy drop cloth panels, and black finials.   All that's left is to change out his art work.  I'm over all the character posters in his room, he needs something more big boy.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out his new curtains.  xx

soooo much brighter in there! I love the clip hardware you used too! I have got to put curtains up eventually -- we keep moving into these rentals and don't want to waste money fitting windows that we wont have in the next house! eep!

congrats on getting Connor's curtians done!!! <3 my productive friend!

I love the curtains! I made some too for my little boy's room. I'll post it soon. Does Connor complain about his twin bed? My son is saying he wants a "big bed" but I love his twin set.

I Love them, Tammy! They compliment the colors in his room. You didn't notice his bedding as much with the blue curtains! I'm so impressed!

Happy St.Patrick's Day! Hope nobody pinched my sweet friend, today :)

You should keep the stitch witchery. It works really well on light fabric.

Have a good night! xox

The new curtains really brighten up the room. I was surprised what a difference they made and had to go back and check out the rest of the room to make sure nothing else had changed. Well done.

Those look great! I'm trying to do them in my dining room and it's just been a big train wreck. We just bought that same quilt for our sons room and I think I know what kind of curtains he's going to have! :) I really like your son's room!
