The Khoury Family, 21 Days 'Til Christmas!!!

Katie from The Khoury Family, is stopping by to share this adorable Advent Calendar for Christmas!!!

This year I thought it would be fun to start a new tradition by making an advent calendar with an envelope for each day leading up to Christmas. Each day the kids will get to open one envelope that contains a game or activity to do. It is a fun way to countdown the days until Christmas and it keeps the kids from asking, "How many more days until Christmas?" ten times a day! Now they can count the envelopes all by themselves. Plus, it gives us a fun little activity to do each day. I wrote 25 ideas on colored paper, here are a few:
  1. Make a Christmas ornament with popsicle sticks
  2. Decorate sugar cookies
  3. Go ice skating
  4. Make a fire in the fireplace
  5. Write a letter to Santa
  6. Play Christmas pictionary
  7. Watch a Christmas movie
  8. Make a Gingerbread house
  9. Talk about Jesus' birth
  10. Wrap a present
Then I made tiny envelopes out of scrapbook paper I had and hung them on string with tiny clothes pins. I simply cut a 6x6 square and then folded the corners in to look like an envelope and secured them with tape from the inside. Don't worry if you missed the first few days of the month, you can always countdown the last 10 or 20 days until Christmas. Your children will still love it!!

So glad I found 'Type A'! These are great ideas that aren't going to break the bank and that are manageable for us non-crafty types. Blessings!
